Performance
We have always embraced technology to aid our continuous 
improvement of the animals. All animals are performance recorded with Lambplan which has been utilised since its inception. Australian Sheep Breeding Values (ASBV’s) for birth weight, weaning weight, post weaning, fat and eye muscle are all individually measured on each animal.
As well as Lambplan we have also utilised Artificial Insemination since 1995 to access the best available sires for each breed.
We are now utilising DNA and genomics to further improve our level of genetic gain for the harder to measure traits such as IMF (intra muscular fat) and shear force (tenderness). Whilst technology can aid certain aspects, structural correctness and visual appeal remain paramount in our selection criteria with particular emphasis placed on structure, muscling and breed type irrespective of figures.
